I.
Longing for home

It all began from a longing for home and for childhood.

A longing for the air of simple places — like the ones I knew in Tălmaciu, forty years ago. I found that same feeling in Viscri. That's when I knew this was where we wanted to stay.

Then came a restoration carried out without haste, over more than four years. The two Saxon houses — Casa Vitraliilor and Casa Lalelelor — were brought back to life alongside local craftsmen.

Azuria is an authentic refuge in the village of Viscri, created for those who seek real beauty, comfort, and a meaningful experience in a place with soul and history.

It all began from a longing for home and for childhood.

A longing for the air and energy of simple, true places — like the ones I knew in Tălmaciu, forty years ago. I unexpectedly found that same feeling on my first visit to Viscri. That's when I knew this was where we wanted to stay.

Then came the search for a house and a restoration carried out without haste, patiently, over more than four years. The two Saxon houses — Casa Vitraliilor and Casa Lalelelor — were brought back to life alongside local craftsmen, under the guidance of Mr. Dan, who oversaw the work with care and respect for every detail.

Natural materials, sturdy structures, and authentic furniture — restored or made within the community — keep the truth of this place as it was once imagined.
